Short answer: Twelve70 is the men's outfit generator we'd try first. It's free to start, and you never have to photograph your clothes. Grayne and Suited are newer menswear apps that build outfits from photos of your closet. To see a look on your own photo, use AIClothSwap's men's generator or TryAnyOutfit.

Most outfit generators are built with women's wardrobes in mind. The ones below either target menswear or handle it well.

They split into three kinds. Closet apps build outfits from what you own, stylists explain what suits you, and try-on tools put a look on a photo of you. We make TryAnyOutfit, so we're one of the picks below.

A generator's real job is telling you which jacket works with which trousers.

Pick by what you're willing to hand over: a few taps, closet photos, or a photo of yourself.

1. Twelve70: no photos needed

Twelve70 calls itself a menswear outfit calculator. Pick one item and its color, and outfits come back in under 10 seconds by its own count. Set the weather and a formality level and the ideas change to match.

It skips the slow part on purpose. There are no clothing photos and no style survey, so you add pieces to its digital closet as you go. The free plan includes unlimited outfit generations for up to 70 closet items, with ads. Premium is listed at $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year on the US App Store.

Besides the iPhone and Android apps, there's a web app. Rated 4.2 from 32 App Store ratings. Google Play shows 10K+ downloads.

2. Grayne: a daily outfit from your own closet

Grayne is an iPhone app for men. Photograph your closet once and it tags each piece, then builds a daily outfit around the weather. Style Me gives you three complete options for an occasion, or builds around one piece you already want to wear.

For a free plan, it's generous, with an unlimited closet and 3 Style Me runs a week on top of the daily outfit. Pro costs $5.99 a month or $39.99 a year, after a 7-day free trial. There are no ads or shopping links, and your closet stays on your device unless you sync it through iCloud.

Android is on its roadmap but not out yet. Rated 5.0 from 10 ratings, so it's early.

3. Suited: outfits by occasion, plus a style check

Suited is built only for menswear. When you photograph a shirt, it suggests the details and removes the background. Pick an occasion and it builds a look from your closet or from shopping suggestions, with the weather and your calendar in mind.

Quick Style Check gives feedback on a photo of what you're wearing. You can also ask its AI stylist about dress codes or color. The free tier only covers your closet and one sample outfit, so new outfits need Pro, which is $6.99 a week, $14.99 a month or $79.99 a year. iPhone only, with 2 ratings so far.

Three men's outfits laid flat on a wooden floor: denim jacket with black jeans and white sneakers, tan overshirt with olive chinos and boots, navy blazer with grey trousers and loafers

Casual, smart casual, office. Most generators sort looks by formality like this.

4. Styled: one answer every morning

Styled does one thing. At 7 AM it checks your calendar and the weather, then serves a single outfit built from clothes you've photographed. Tap to wear it, tap to swap it, or ask in chat for something less formal.

No feed, no shop. That suits men who just want an answer. After a 7-day free trial, it's $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year. It runs on iPhone and iPad and has 1 rating so far. The last update was May 11, 2026.

5. Stylebook Men: pay once

Stylebook Men costs $4.99 once, with no subscription. You import clothes from photos, store sites or AI-generated item images, then arrange them into magazine-style collages. It can also make outfits for you when you're stuck.

It's the oldest app here, around since 2012, and rated 4.5 from 254 ratings. The last update was June 13, 2025. We didn't find an Android version. Our Stylebook alternatives page covers similar apps.

6. Style DNA: if you want to know what suits you

Style DNA serves men and women. One selfie gives you a color type from 12 seasons and a style profile. After that it suggests 5 outfit ideas a day from your closet, styled to those results, and its chatbot answers questions like what goes with green cargo pants.

With 7.5K ratings and a 4.3 average, it has by far the most reviews here. Subscriptions on the US App Store are listed from $7.99 a month. It's less menswear-focused than the apps above, but it explains why a color works rather than just picking one.

7. AIClothSwap men's outfit generator: the look on your photo, in a browser

This one is a web tool, not a closet app. Upload one clear photo of yourself, then type the look or add up to six garment images. It puts them on your photo as one outfit. Your face and background stay as they were, according to the site.

You get 2 watermarked tries before signing in, then 20 Standard credits and 10 more on later days. A Standard 1K result costs 8 credits. Credit packs start at 150 credits for $9.99. It's for adults only (18+).

8. TryAnyOutfit: try a look you saw on someone else

We start from a different place. Find an outfit you like, whether that's a product photo or a screenshot from a feed, and we put it on your own photo, not an avatar. Our Discover feed has outfit inspiration for men, so you don't need to bring a picture.

Choose Top only or Bottom only to swap one piece and keep the rest. Credits are shared between the iPhone and Android apps and the web studio. Uploaded photos are auto-deleted after 72 hours unless you save them. There's no free trial, but it's cheap to start; see pricing. It previews a look. It won't measure fit or choose your size.

TryAnyOutfit Discover feed on iPhone with saved outfit photos, each with a Try On button

Start from an outfit you saw, then see it on your own photo.

How to choose

If you won't photograph your clothes, start with Twelve70. If you will, Grayne's free plan goes furthest and Suited adds a style check. Styled is the pick when you only want one answer a day.

If the question is "would this look good on me", a closet app can't answer it. That's what a try-on tool is for. For the wider field, see our best AI outfit generators, outfit generators that use your own clothes and best AI stylist apps.
