TL;DR: Meta has quietly released Style Sketch, an outfit planner. For now it's on iOS and Android in three countries: Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. It builds outfits from clothes you own and previews them on a model matched to your body shape and skin tone. Outside those markets, closet apps such as Alta Daily and Acloset do similar planning. For seeing a new outfit on your own photo, TryAnyOutfit is our pick.

Last checked 30 Oct 2026 against the app's store listings.

News, 30 October 2026. Meta is testing a fashion app called Style Sketch, and it's only live in three Southeast Asian countries so far. We make TryAnyOutfit, a try-on app that appears in the list below. We think Style Sketch looks like a careful test of a closet planner, and we'd judge it on that basis.

What happened

TechCrunch reported on October 29 that Meta had launched Style Sketch without an announcement. Social media consultant Matt Navarra spotted it first. Meta didn't reply to TechCrunch's request for comment, and TechCrunch says it's unknown whether the app will launch more widely.

The App Store listing in Indonesia names the app "Style Sketch: Outfit Planner," published by Meta Platforms, Inc. It needs iOS 18 or later and is rated 18+. The version history starts on October 2, so the app has been out longer than the coverage suggests. On Google Play, it sits under the package com.facebook.stylesketch. Meta's listing says the app is free to use, and there weren't enough ratings to show a score when we looked.

What the listing and TechCrunch describe:

  • Add clothes by photo, video or your camera roll, and connect Instagram.
  • Get outfits built from what you own.
  • Preview looks on a realistic model matched to your body shape and skin tone, per TechCrunch.
  • Plan a trip around where you're going, for how long, and the forecast.
  • Send a look to a friend.

Why it matters

Closet apps are a crowded niche, though. A Meta app with an Instagram connection could pull in a lot of people quickly if it leaves the test markets. Nobody outside Meta knows yet whether it will.

The model preview is the part to watch. Still, a model matched to your shape is closer to an avatar than to a photo of you. That suits planning what to wear from your own closet, and it's a different job from seeing a specific new outfit on yourself.

Alta Daily is the closest match on paper. Its App Store listing describes daily outfits from your closet and the weather. It also offers packing lists and an avatar "that looks like you."

Acloset added a packing feature in late September that recommends outfits from your packed clothes and destination. Its listing says all features are free for up to 100 items.

Pureple pairs a calendar with packing lists. Its try-on shows an outfit on a model, and Pureple says it isn't a sizing tool.

Whering suggests outfits from your wardrobe and the weather. You can plan for a trip by changing your location.

TryAnyOutfit does a different job. It puts an outfit from any photo or screenshot onto your real photo, not an avatar. You can use it on phones or in the web Studio. You can change only the top or the bottom, or recolor a piece with a text instruction. It isn't a fit or size tool, and it has no free trial. Uploaded photos are auto-deleted after 72 hours unless you save them.

Plenty of people will want both kinds of app. A planner keeps track of what you own, and a try-on app answers whether a new piece works on you.
