Gensmo Alternatives: AI Stylist and Try-On Apps cover with paper shopping bags, a folded olive jacket, white sneakers and a gift box on a table
In this article

Short answer: If you're on Android, you need a Gensmo alternative, because its Google Play page now says "Not Found." On iPhone it's still listed, but the last update was January 14, 2026. For try-ons on your own photo, TryAnyOutfit and FitRoom both run on Android. For AI shopping by chat or screenshot, try Daydream or Google's own Try-On.

Gensmo calls itself a "Super Shopping Agent." It mixes styling with shopping and try-on. The app is rated 4.68 from 1,761 ratings on the US App Store. That's a good score. If it works for you on iPhone, there's no rush to switch.

We make TryAnyOutfit, a try-on app, so we're one of the options here. Weigh our take with that in mind.

Gensmo Alternatives: AI Stylist and Try-On Apps cover with paper shopping bags, a folded olive jacket, white sneakers and a gift box on a table

Gensmo sits between a shopping app and a try-on app. So do most of its alternatives.

What Gensmo does well

Snap to Shop is the headline feature. Upload any photo and Gensmo turns it into shoppable outfits that match your style and budget. Style an Item builds a full outfit around one piece you own. For try-on, it makes an AI avatar from your photo and dresses that avatar.

Two features are rarer. Animate Your Looks turns an outfit into a walk or full-turn video, and Couple Try-On puts you and a partner in matching looks. There's also a feed of looks from other users and a holiday gift planner.

It's paid with credits. The US App Store lists packs from 10 credits for $5 up to 100 for $50.

Availability is the catch. On iPhone, the app is still there. The US App Store listing is live, with version 3.10.3 from January 14, 2026, so it hasn't been updated in more than nine months. On Android, the Google Play page returned "Not Found" when we checked on October 29. The app trackers AppBrain and chrome-stats both log it as removed from Google Play in August 2026. Gensmo hasn't said why, as far as we could find.

Google Try-On Try-ons of clothes Google already shows you Google Search, Chrome No charge listed
Daydream Shopping by chat or screenshot iPhone No in-app purchases listed
ButtonUp Screenshot try-ons plus in-app shopping iPhone Free to browse; Pro from $7.99
shoppin A saved look made to your measurements iPhone Free app; you pay for the clothes
Alta Daily Outfits built around a piece you own iPhone, Android, web No in-app purchases listed
FitRoom Try-ons on Android or in a browser iPhone, Android, web Weekly $4.99; yearly from $29.99

Leaving Gensmo? Snap to Shop: Daydream. Try-on: TryAnyOutfit, FitRoom, ButtonUp. Style an Item: Alta Daily. Made to fit: shoppin. Walk video: no match

Where each Gensmo feature went. We didn't find the walk video anywhere else.

1. Google Try-On: if you shop from Google results

Google built try-on into its shopping results. Search for a top, a pair of trousers or a dress, tap "Try it on," and upload a full-body photo or a selfie. In the US, you can also turn a selfie into a digital version of yourself. It works in Chrome too, and Google's help page lists no charge.

The limit is the source. Only eligible products Google shows you get the button, and sponsored listings don't. You also need to be 18 or older. We compare it with our app in TryAnyOutfit vs Google Try-On.

2. Daydream: if Snap to Shop was your favorite part

Daydream is an AI personal shopper. You describe what you want, like "a silk dress for a summer wedding," and it pulls results from thousands of brands, refining them as you chat. It can also start from a screenshot and find similar pieces, which is the closest match to Snap to Shop here.

It doesn't try clothes on you. The US App Store shows no in-app purchases, and the listing says the app has no ads. It's iPhone-only, rated 4.19 from 79 ratings.

3. ButtonUp: if you want shopping and try-on together

ButtonUp starts from a screenshot. Upload an item you saw on a site or a social post and get an image of yourself wearing it. You can shop brands inside the app and try pieces on as you browse. It also tries on hairstyles.

The free version lets you browse and view your Gallery. Its listing says try-ons from your camera roll need ButtonUp Pro, which starts at $7.99 on the US App Store. It's iPhone-only, rated 4.77 from 779 ratings. More in TryAnyOutfit vs ButtonUp.

4. shoppin: if you'd rather have the look made for you

shoppin takes a different route. You bring a saved pin, a screenshot or a link, add your measurements, and tailors in India make the piece and ship it to you. It also has a "vibe search," an explore feed and virtual try-on.

The US App Store lists no in-app purchases, since you pay for the clothes you order. It's rated 4.74 from 13,643 ratings. Its site links a Google Play listing, but that page returned "Not Found" when we checked from the US. Our TryAnyOutfit vs shoppin page compares the two.

5. Alta Daily: if you used Style an Item

Alta builds outfits from your own closet around the weather, your schedule or an event you type in. Ask it to style a specific jacket and it'll build outfits around that piece, much like Gensmo's Style an Item. It also plans packing lists for trips.

Alta lists no in-app purchases on the US App Store and runs on iPhone, Android and the web. It's rated 4.89 from 17,785 ratings. If it's not for you, see Alta Daily alternatives.

6. FitRoom: if you need try-on on Android

FitRoom covers the gap Gensmo left on Android. Upload a photo of a garment and a photo of yourself, and it shows the outfit on you. It also has a smart closet. Some of the app is aimed at sellers making product images, which you can ignore.

It's on iPhone, Android and the web at fitroom.app. The US App Store lists a $4.99 weekly plan and yearly plans from $29.99. It's rated 4.59 from 257 ratings.

7. TryAnyOutfit: if you want your real photo, not an avatar

This is our app. Gensmo dresses an avatar it builds from your photo, and we keep your own photo. You add a clear picture of yourself and any outfit image, like a store screenshot or a look from social media, and see it on you. Discover is a feed of looks you can try on, and a wardrobe keeps the ones you like.

Use it on your phone or in the web studio; credits are shared between them. No free trial. It's cheap to start, though; see pricing. Uploaded photos are auto-deleted after 72 hours unless you save them. A preview shows the look. It doesn't measure fit or choose your size.

How to pick

Start with your phone. On iPhone, Gensmo is still listed, and the walk video is something we didn't find elsewhere on this list. On Android, you'll need a swap. TryAnyOutfit and FitRoom both run there and in a browser.

Then pick by habit. Chatting your way to new clothes points to Daydream. If you shop from Google results, try Google Try-On first, since it's free to check. For outfits around clothes you already own, Alta Daily is the one.
