FitRoom AI Review: We Tested It With a Blazer and a Shirt

Hands-on FitRoom AI review (tested November 4, 2026). The blazer try-on was very good, but a long-sleeved shirt came back sleeveless and jackets replace the layer underneath. Free plan: 10 credits a month with a watermark. Standard is $8/month and Pro $15/month, both billed yearly.

In this article

I'd use FitRoom AI to preview a jacket, and I'd double-check anything with sleeves. On our blazer test the result looked close to the real garment. The free plan gives you 10 credits a month and puts a FitRoom watermark on every image. Our shirt test also showed its main weakness: a long-sleeved shirt came back with no sleeves. We make TryAnyOutfit, a competing try-on app, so read this as a rival's review. We ran the test ourselves this week. The results are below, watermark included.

TL;DR

  • Verdict: worth a try for jackets and outerwear. Check sleeves and layering before you trust a result.
  • Blazer test: very good. The garment details matched and the face stayed the same. But the hoodie underneath disappeared, so the blazer was worn open over a bare chest.
  • Shirt test: the details were right, but the long sleeves were gone.
  • Free plan: 10 credits a month, standard quality, FitRoom watermark. You need an account to generate.
  • Paid plans, billed yearly: Standard $8/month with 2,400 credits a year, Pro $15/month with 12,000 credits a year. Both remove the watermark.

How we tested FitRoom

We used one test photo: an AI-generated male model in a grey hoodie and dark trousers. It's not a real person. We picked two garments from product photos: a navy corduroy blazer and a navy button-up shirt. Both ran in FitRoom's Fast mode on a new free account, through the web editor at fitroom.app/editor.

Signing up. You can do a lot without an account. You can open the editor, pick demo garments, and upload your own garment and person photos. When you press Generate, a "Login/Signup to FitRoom" window opens with Google or email options. The home page button says "Start for free".

The sign-up window appears when you press Generate.

We signed up by email. FitRoom sends a magic link, so there's no password. A Cloudflare bot check ran and passed on its own. The new account showed 10 credits.

One small thing for men: all six of FitRoom's demo garments were womenswear. That's fine if you upload your own clothes, which you will anyway.

The results

Navy corduroy blazer. This was the strong result. The face and pose didn't change. The corduroy texture matched the product photo. So did the three buttons and the flap pockets, down to the navy shade. The drape looked natural and the hands weren't distorted, which many try-on tools still get wrong. FitRoom's home page says results take 10-15 seconds. Ours took roughly 25 to 40 seconds, but we didn't time it closely.

FitRoom AI result: navy corduroy blazer on our test photo, Fast mode, with FitRoom watermark

Blazer result as downloaded on the free plan. The watermark sits bottom right.

The catch: FitRoom replaced the hoodie instead of layering over it. The blazer is worn open over a bare chest. In real life you'd wear a shirt or tee under it, so the image doesn't show the outfit you'd actually put together. The background, an off-white wall with a rust arc, stayed the same as in our photo. The output was 731 x 1280 pixels.

Navy button-up shirt. This one took 12.4 seconds, which we timed. The button-down collar came out right, and so did the copper buttons on the chest pockets. But the shirt has long sleeves, and FitRoom turned it into a sleeveless shirt with bare arms. That's not a small styling difference. If you were deciding whether to buy this shirt, the preview would show you a different garment.

FitRoom AI result: navy button-up shirt rendered without sleeves on our test photo

The shirt has long sleeves. FitRoom's result has none.

Two tests don't make a benchmark. Another photo or High quality mode might have fixed the sleeves. We didn't test that.

Credits and watermark

Generate showed "Fast - 1 credits". It briefly showed "3 credits" while the Cloudflare check was running. Our counter went from 10 to 2 after the first generation and from 2 to 1 after the second. We can't explain the first drop. It's just what we saw on our account, not something FitRoom states as policy. High quality mode costs 2 credits per FitRoom's editor. We didn't try it.

On the free plan, both images carry a "FitRoom" watermark in the bottom right corner. The download menu offers "Photo with watermark" for free or "No watermark" for PRO. There's also an Upscale button.

FitRoom pricing

We checked fitroom.app/pricing on November 4, 2026 with annual billing selected (labelled "Save 48%"):

Plan Price Credits Notes
Free $0/month 10 each month Up to 10 wardrobe items and 10 custom models, standard quality, FitRoom watermark
Standard $8/month, billed yearly 2,400 each year Unlimited wardrobe, best photo quality, no watermark
Pro $15/month, billed yearly 12,000 each year Everything in Standard plus priority support

The page says "Unused credits roll over as long as you're subscribed." We didn't check the monthly prices. Look at the "Pay monthly" tab before you subscribe.

Pros, cons and who it's for

Pros

  • The blazer result kept the fabric details and didn't change the face.
  • The shirt rendered in 12.4 seconds.
  • A free plan with 10 monthly credits, signed up through a password-free magic link.
  • You can explore the editor before you sign up.

Cons

  • Sleeves vanished on a long-sleeved shirt.
  • It replaces the clothes underneath instead of layering, so jackets show up over a bare chest.
  • Watermark on every free result.
  • Our credit counter dropped more than the button said on the first try-on.
  • All the demo garments were womenswear.

FitRoom fits someone who wants to see outerwear or a single statement piece on a photo, and who doesn't mind a watermark. If you need a clean image for social posts or a store listing, you'll need a paid plan; the pricing page is aimed at "individual and small stores" and "growing stores and studios". If you're judging shirts, knitwear or anything where sleeves matter, check every result against the product photo.

FitRoom vs TryAnyOutfit

We make TryAnyOutfit, so this section is the one to read most sceptically. Like FitRoom, it puts clothes from any photo or screenshot on your real photo rather than on an avatar. It runs on iPhone and Android. There's also a web Studio, and all three share one credit balance. You can choose "Top only" or "Bottom only" to swap just one half of an outfit. You can also recolour a garment by typing the colour you want. Uploaded photos are auto-deleted after 72 hours unless you save them. It's cheap to start; see TryAnyOutfit pricing.

Neither app is a size or fit tool. Both show you how a garment looks on you, not whether a medium will fit. Check the store's size chart and returns policy. If you're comparing more options, our list of the best virtual try-on apps covers FitRoom and others. Our virtual try-on guide explains what these previews can and can't tell you. Our blazer test fits the men's wedding guest outfit guide too, if that's what you're shopping for.

Verdict

FitRoom AI produced one of the better blazer results we've seen from a free tool. It also produced a shirt with no sleeves. Use the free credits on the garments you care about, and compare every result with the product photo before you buy. Pay for the watermark-free plans only once you know it handles your kind of clothes.

There is a free plan with 10 credits each month, standard quality and a FitRoom watermark. You need an account to generate. Paid plans were $8/month (Standard) and $15/month (Pro), billed yearly, when we checked on November 4, 2026.

How many credits does a FitRoom try-on use?

The editor showed 1 credit for Fast mode and 2 for High quality mode. On our new account the counter dropped from 10 to 2 after the first try-on, which we can't explain, and by 1 after the second.

Does FitRoom add a watermark?

Yes, on the free plan. Downloads offer a photo with watermark for free or no watermark on a paid plan.

How accurate is FitRoom AI?

In our test a corduroy blazer came out very accurate, but a long-sleeved shirt was rendered without sleeves, and the blazer replaced the hoodie instead of layering over it.

How fast is FitRoom?

FitRoom says 10-15 seconds. Our shirt took 12.4 seconds; the blazer took roughly 25-40 seconds by a loose estimate.

Is FitRoom safe for my photos?

FitRoom's home page says it encrypts all uploaded files and automatically deletes images after processing (checked November 4, 2026). We can't verify that independently.

Can FitRoom tell me my size?

No. Like other try-on apps, it shows how a garment looks on a photo, not whether a size will fit. Check the store's size chart.
