# Pureple Alternatives: Outfit Planners Compared

Pureple is a solid free outfit planner, but its AI tools need Pro and much of Pro is iPhone-only; the Android app is rated 2.5 stars. Whering and Fits are the closest free swaps, Acloset suits small closets, and Stylebook is a one-time $4.99 buy.

Short answer: Pureple is a solid free outfit planner, but its AI tools sit behind Pro, and much of Pro is iPhone-only. On Android or on a budget, Whering is the closest free swap, with Fits close behind. To see a new outfit on your own photo before you buy it, you need a try-on app like TryAnyOutfit instead of a planner.

Pureple has been around for years. You photograph your clothes, then mix them into outfits and plan what to wear. The iPhone app is rated 3.94 from 6,115 ratings and got an update on October 26.

The Android version is a different story: 2.5 stars on Google Play, from about 4,000 reviews. We think that gap is the main reason people search for something else.

We make TryAnyOutfit, a try-on app, so we're one of the picks below. Weigh our view with that in mind.

## What Pureple does well, and what costs extra

The free tier is generous. You get unlimited clothing items and unlimited manual outfits on both iPhone and Android. Friends can style looks from your closet too.

Pro is where the AI lives. "Style Me" suggests outfits on both platforms. On iPhone, Pro also scans your whole closet and gives AI feedback on outfits. The calendar and packing lists are Pro on iPhone too, along with closet stats and the try-on. The Android listing mentions calendar planning but not the rest.

Pro costs $6.99 a week, $14.99 a month or $89.99 a year on the US App Store (as of 30 Oct 2026). The yearly plan comes with a 7-day free trial. Eligible US users who aren't on Pro get three free closet scans.

The try-on wording isn't consistent. The App Store listing says it shows the outfit "on a model." Pureple's FAQ says "on your own photo or on a model." Either way, it's a Pro feature on iOS, and Pureple says it isn't a sizing tool.

| App | Best for | Platforms | Price (US App Store) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Whering | A free closet with a huge item database | iPhone, Android | Free; AI credits from 10 for $2.99 |
| Fits | Planning and AI styling in one app | iPhone, Android | Free; Fits Pro from $9.99 |
| Acloset | A small closet and cheap upgrades | iPhone, Android | Free up to 100 items; from $3.99/month |
| Alta Daily | Daily outfits plus an avatar try-on | iPhone, Android, web | No in-app purchases listed |
| Stylebook | A one-time purchase, no subscription | iPhone | $4.99 |
| TryAnyOutfit | Seeing a new look on your real photo | iPhone, Android, web | See [pricing](/#pricing) |

## 1. Whering: if you want it free and on Android

Whering is the closest swap for most people. Adding clothes is fast because it has a database of over 100 million items, and there's a Chrome extension for saving pieces from shops. "Dress Me" shuffles your closet into outfits. Packing lists and an event planner are built in, and it tracks cost per wear.

The app is free. AI credits come in packs, from 10 for $2.99 up to 100 for $12.99 on the US App Store (as of 30 Oct 2026), and the Outfit Maker needs a Style Pass. Rated 4.67 from 12,016 ratings on the US App Store. For a deeper look, see [apps like Whering](/blog/apps-like-whering).

## 2. Fits: if you want planning and AI styling together

Several things Pureple keeps in Pro come with Fits, on both platforms. You swipe through tops and bottoms to build outfits, plan them on a calendar, and ask an AI stylist for ideas. It has a virtual try-on too.

The wardrobe is free. Fits Pro starts at $9.99, and AI credits start at 5 for $1.99. It's rated 4.59 from 5,725 ratings. We compare it with our app in [TryAnyOutfit vs Fits](/compare/tryanyoutfit-vs-fits).

## 3. Acloset: if your closet is small

Acloset is free for up to 100 items, which covers a lot of real closets. You can chat with its AI stylist or let it suggest outfits for the weather. It also does personal color analysis.

Past 100 items, paid tiers start at $3.99 a month for Basic. That's well under what Pureple Pro costs. It's rated 4.46 from 5,496 ratings, and we list more options in [Acloset alternatives](/blog/acloset-alternatives).

*A week of outfits is the job all of these apps share. The AI extras are where they differ.*

## 4. Alta Daily: if you want outfits picked for you

Alta builds an outfit for your day from your closet, based on weather and plans. You can see a look "on an avatar that looks like you," and forwarding an email receipt adds that item to your closet. It also does packing lists.

No in-app purchases are listed on the US App Store. Rated 4.89 from 17,857 ratings. Besides the iPhone app, there's an Android app and a web version.

## 5. Stylebook: if you hate subscriptions

Stylebook costs $4.99 once on iPhone. For that you get outfit collages and an outfit calendar. Packing lists and cost-per-wear stats are in there as well. It's rated 4.68 from 8,869 ratings.

The catch: the last update was June 15, 2025. It still works, but nothing new has shipped in over a year. Our [Stylebook alternatives](/blog/stylebook-alternatives) list covers the closest replacements.

## 6. TryAnyOutfit: if you want to see it on you

We're not a closet app. Planners show you clothes you own. We show you clothes you don't own yet, on a photo of you. Add a clear photo of yourself and any outfit image, such as a product shot or a screenshot, and you get the look on your real photo, not an avatar.

Saved looks go into a wardrobe, and the planner puts them on the days you'll wear them. Credits are shared between the phone apps and the [web studio](/tryon). There's no free trial, but it's cheap to start; see [pricing](/#pricing). Uploaded photos are auto-deleted after 72 hours unless you save them. It previews the look. It won't measure fit or tell you your size.

![TryAnyOutfit planner on iPhone showing saved try-on looks in a wardrobe and a weekly outfit plan](https://storage.googleapis.com/tryanyoutfit.firebasestorage.app/blog-images/tryanyoutfit-planner-saved-looks-by-day-9d8d0aac.webp)

*Saved try-ons can go on a calendar, so the planning happens next to the preview.*

## How to choose

If you're on Android, start with Whering or Fits. We'd try either before Pureple's Android app. On iPhone, stay with Pureple's free tier if manual outfits are enough. If you want the AI features, compare Pro at $89.99 a year with Acloset's tiers or a $4.99 Stylebook purchase first.

Pair any planner with a try-on app when the question is about buying something new. Our [best outfit planner apps](/blog/best-outfit-planner-apps) and [virtual closet apps](/blog/virtual-closet-apps) guides go wider.
