# Google Doppl Alternatives for iPhone and Android

Google shut Doppl down on April 30, 2026, and the app is gone from both stores. To try on outfit screenshots on your own photo, use a try-on app such as TryAnyOutfit, FitRoom or DLOOK on iPhone and Android. For clothes Google already lists, its built-in Try-On in Search and Shopping works in 18 countries.

Doppl is gone. Google switched its standalone try-on app off on April 30, 2026, pulled it from the App Store and Google Play, and said your saved looks would no longer be accessible after that. If you liked dropping an outfit screenshot onto a full-body photo of yourself, you need a new app.

We make TryAnyOutfit. It's one of the options below, so weigh our section with that in mind. We'd rather show you where each Doppl feature went than pretend one app replaces all of it. Short answer: for screenshots of clothes you found anywhere, use a try-on app. For products Google already shows in Search, Google's built-in Try-On covers part of what Doppl did, in more countries than Doppl ever reached.

## What Doppl did, and where each part went

Doppl was a Google Labs app for adults in the US. You uploaded a full-body photo or picked a pre-made AI model. Then you tried on clothes from photos you uploaded or snapped live, as long as they were tops, bottoms or dresses. A Discovery feed suggested looks and Collections stored them. The most distinctive part was the animate button, which turned a look into a short video. Shoes and swimwear weren't supported.

No single app copies all of that. Here's where each piece lives now.

*Four things Doppl did, and the closest replacement for each.*

| Alternative | Closest Doppl feature | Where it runs | Paid side (US, Oct 2026) |

| TryAnyOutfit | Any outfit photo on your own photo, plus a Discover feed | iPhone, Android, web | Packs from $2.99 for 5, plans $7.99/week or $14.99/month |
| FitRoom | Garment photo on your photo or a preset model | iPhone, Android, web | Weekly $4.99, yearly $29.99 or $39.99 |
| DLOOK | Screenshot or photo try-on with brand search | iPhone, Android, web | Weekly $9.99, yearly $59.99 or $69.99, credits $2.99 to $29.99 |
| Gensmo | AI avatar with walk or full-turn videos | iPhone, Android | Credit packs from $5 for 10 to $50 for 100 |
| Fits | Try-on inside a closet planner | iPhone, Android | Fits Pro $9.99 to $59.99, AI credits from 5 for $1.99 |

## Google Try-On: Google's own replacement

When it shut Doppl, Google pointed users to the try-on built into its shopping results. On an eligible top, bottom or dress in Search, Shopping or Images, tap "Try it on" and upload a full-body photo or a selfie. In the US you can also turn a selfie into a digital version of yourself with Google's Nano Banana model. It works in Chrome too.

Google's help page lists no charge. Doppl was US-only. Google Try-On reaches 18 countries, including the US and UK (full list in the FAQ below). You need to be 18 or older and signed in, with search history and personalized recommendations turned on.

The limit is the starting point. You can only try on products Google surfaces, and sponsored listings don't get the button. A TikTok outfit or a boutique's Instagram post won't work. That was the part of Doppl many people liked most. We cover the trade-offs in [TryAnyOutfit vs Google Try-On](/compare/tryanyoutfit-vs-google-try-on).

## Try-on apps that take any screenshot

**FitRoom.** Upload a garment photo plus your own photo or one of its preset models. It runs in the browser at fitroom.app and on iPhone and Android. Half the app is aimed at sellers making product images, which you can ignore. US App Store: 4.6 stars from 256 ratings. Longer comparison: [FitRoom alternatives](/blog/fitroom-alternative).

**DLOOK.** Formerly called Dressy. Upload a screenshot or photo and see it on you, or search for a brand or item and try that on. It also keeps a digital wardrobe. Its weekly plan is the priciest here at $9.99, though credit packs start at $2.99. US App Store: 4.8 stars from about 1,370 ratings.

**Gensmo.** The nearest thing to Doppl's avatar and animation. Gensmo builds an AI avatar from your photo, and can generate a walk or full-turn video of a look. It also does couple try-on and turns a photo into shoppable outfits. Credits only, from $5 for 10. US App Store: 4.7 stars from about 1,760 ratings. The iPhone app's last update was January 14, 2026, so check it's still maintained before you buy credits.

**Fits.** A closet planner first. Its listing puts virtual try-on next to an AI stylist and an outfit calendar. Pick it if you mostly want to style clothes you own and see them on you now and then.

## TryAnyOutfit

You add a clear photo of yourself and any outfit image, whether that's a store screenshot or a social post, and get a preview of you wearing it. Discover is a feed of looks you can try on, which covers what Doppl's Discovery feed did. There's a digital wardrobe with an outfit calendar and an AI stylist. Get the look finds similar pieces to shop from an outfit photo.

It runs on iPhone and Android and in the [web studio](/tryon). Each try-on, face swap or custom edit uses one credit. Packs are 5 for $2.99, 15 for $4.99 or 30 for $8.99. Plans are 20 try-ons for $7.99 a week or 50 for $14.99 a month. There are no free renders.

## What none of these do

Google's own Doppl help page said generated images "don't provide a representation of fit, suggest a size, or indicate availability." That still applies to every app here, ours included. A try-on tells you whether the color and cut suit you. The size chart and the return policy handle the rest.

## Which Doppl alternative should you pick?

If the clothes you want are already in Google Shopping and you're in one of the 18 countries, start with Google Try-On. It costs nothing to check.

For screenshots from anywhere, pick a try-on app: TryAnyOutfit or FitRoom for a simple photo-plus-outfit flow, DLOOK if you also want brand search. Gensmo is the pick if the walk-around video was your favorite Doppl trick.
